I use bodywork to re-educate the body in how it relates to itself. Through guided touch, drawing from techniques in Eastern and Western modalities, the body becomes aware of tension and holding patterns, which it can then release instantly or over time. There are studies which suggest that the body benefits from these techniques, experiencing positive outcomes from relaxation to increased healing of soft tissue.
I offer sessions of 50 or 75 minutes. Standard sessions are $60 and extended sessions are $90; every third session is discounted at $40 or $60.
What should I expect?
If you are unfamiliar with bodywork, you may feel unsure what to expect. Even those who have had various treatments before may find my style a little different, because I draw from eclectic traditions.
Some of the format will depend on why you are seeking bodywork. After an initial assessment, we can discuss which options are recommended. Some interventions may involve gentle or assisted movement, and you may remain fully clothed. This movement may happen while standing, sitting, or lying either on the floor or an elevated table.
Other interventions may be best delivered directly to the skin; in this case, you are only expected to undress to your point of comfort and you will be appropriately draped throughout. Some conditions are counter-indicated for bodywork; please ask if this applies to your particular health condition.
